Civitas Capital Group at the JTC Webinar Spotlighting EB 5 Program’s Transformative Impact

On December 10th, 2025, JTC hosted Changing the Narrative: EB 5 and Economic Impact, a webinar featuring women professionals from the EB 5 industry. Through years of experience, these panelists have seen what resonates – and what does not – when discussing the EB 5 program. Mine Ekim, Managing Director, Legal & Head of Investor Experience at Civitas Capital Group, joined the discussion to showcase the program as a powerful engine for economic and community impact. Mine shared how Civitas projects create meaningful outcomes for investors, families, and neighborhoods alike. From the revitalized NYLO Dallas South Side (now Canvas Hotel) to Bishop Arts development in Dallas and the Civitas Hawaii rural project, her examples illustrated how EB 5 financing sparks job creation, strengthens local businesses, and breathes new life into communities.

The discussion went beyond numbers, emphasizing the human stories behind each investment. Mine shared examples of investors achieving the American Dream, families relocating to the United States, and even employees joining Civitas after investing in its projects – demonstrating how financial success and social impact go hand in hand. The webinar and Mine’s insights were featured in Forbes, celebrating EB 5 program’s unique opportunities and broader economic significance (click here for more).

These conversations are critical because they shape understanding, build trust, and guide policy around EB 5, ensuring the program continues to deliver measurable impact. As a thought leader and active IIUSA member, Civitas advocates for integrity, transparency, and sustainable growth, while inspiring others to prioritize meaningful economic and social outcomes.

By highlighting the humanity behind EB 5, Mine’s panel discussion reminded participants that every investment represents real people, families, and communities. Sharing concrete stories of local revitalization, job creation, and investor success helps shift the narrative from abstract statistics to tangible, human impact, reinforcing why EB 5 program matters – not just as an investment tool, but as a force for positive change across the U.S. economy.

We extend our sincere gratitude to JTC for organizing this insightful conversation.
