Civitas Phoenix Fund, LP made an $8 million mezzanine loan to El Fenix, a 93-year-old restaurant company, to open four new restaurants and renovate three existing locations. Founded in 1918, El Fenix is the oldest Tex-Mex restaurant chain in the United States. The Phoenix Fund’s loan was repaid as agreed in mid-2015.
