Duties

Coordinate and implement the company’s marketing policies and programs with respect to the China market. Increase the company’s market position in China by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business relationships with Chinese EB-5 investors, and with influencers/thought leaders who are sources for Chinese investors. Research local, regional, and national market conditions in China, including competitive research. Determine the demand for company’s current and pipeline investment projects. Identify sources of potential investors in China. Develop networks of referral sources in China. Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new relationship with company’s strategies and operations; examine risk and potentials; estimate potential partner’s needs and goals. Negotiate pricing or fee arrangements with referral partners and sources, subject to management approval. Present company investment products at private meetings with Chinese investors and represent the company at public conferences and trade meetings. Close new business relations with investors and sources of investors by coordinating requirements and developing and negotiating agreements. Monitor trends among competitors and advise management on the need for new investment products and market development channels to compete in the China market. Protect the company’s brand value by keeping information confidential and confirming market development activities to securities law and regulations. Enhance the company’s reputation by accepting ownership for developing new and different markets and business development approaches and exploring opportunities to add value to job achievements. International travel is required up to 40% of the time.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field and 3 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation as a financial, operations or administrative manager in the financial investment industry. Will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation as a financial, operations or administrative manager in the financial investment industry, or any suitable combination of education, training, or experience. Experience must include: 1) Fluency in Mandarin Chinese, both oral and written. 2) Three years of experience directing and implementing a company’s financial, strategic and operational strategies to attract Chinese investors for U.S. based investment projects. 3) Three years of experience in real estate / private equity. 4) Three years of experience in a regulated investment advisory environment. 5) Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex, multi-faceted issues and present findings clearly and succinctly. 6) Excellent oral and communication skills, specifically in writing and presentation. 7) Three years of experience marketing private equity funds and other investment vehicles in the commercial real estate sector. 8) Demonstrated ability communicating with family offices, institutional investors, and their representatives (e.g. investment staff and consultants). 9) Strong technical strategic thinking and the analytical ability to exercise judgement with an operational understanding of financial products and risks. 10) Demonstrated ability to understand and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, rules, and policies affecting the company. 11) Demonstrated ability to command respect amongst peers and the broader financial services community. 12) Ability to travel internationally up to 40% of the time.
