USCIS approves new 43-county regional center focused on EB-5 job creation and new development in largest Texas markets

DALLAS, April 3, 2013 – Civitas Capital Group is pleased to announce the new Civitas Texas Regional Center, a 43-county regional center encompassing five of Texas’s most populous cities — Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston – and the surrounding areas. With the approval of the new regional center by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Civitas will bring its unique brand of low-cost financing through the EB-5 Investor Visa Program to the state’s major markets and surrounding cities to enhance job creation and spur economic development.

Through its EB-5 Funds division, Dallas-based Civitas Capital Group already manages the City of Dallas Regional Center (CDRC), which has funded or is in the process of funding, more than $250 million of EB-5 capital and created thousands of jobs in Dallas.

“Texas has a very active market for new development and we are excited to expand our EB-5 investment activities to such a significant section of the state. EB-5 is a powerful catalyst for economic activity and job creation, and we are confident that the Civitas Texas Regional Center will enable us to forge new partnerships with both public and private entities throughout its territory,” said Daniel J. Healy, CEO of Civitas Capital Group. “Anchored by D/FW, San Antonio and Houston, we chose the area known as the ‘Texas Triangle’ because of its large network of successful metropolitan regions, its economic appeal for developers and its key redevelopment opportunities for cities. In fact, the Texas Triangle is home to 38 of the top 50 fastest growing counties in the state.”

The new Civitas Texas Regional Center will enhance the region’s economic landscape by enabling qualified international investors to receive permanent U.S. residency by investing a minimum of $500,000 in a job-creating business or project. Leveraging strong relationships with a wide range of developers, business owners and other partners, Civitas Capital Group has developed a significant pipeline of potential EB-5 investments throughout the region. The firm will also work closely with municipalities and economic development organizations to identify projects that meet the EB-5 program’s rigorous requirements and further the cities’ economic development goals.

Alok Sarna, a Canadian citizen who invested in one of the eleven CDRC Fund offerings, said, “This fund gave us the opportunity to make an investment that would provide a long-term opportunity for my family to establish a new home base in Dallas and the U.S. It really sets the table for the next generation.”
