Dallas, Texas – July 2, 2013 – Judge Jenkins traveled to Beijing Friday with Civitas Capital Group CEO Dan Healy to speak with Chinese investors about opportunities to make EB-5 investments in Dallas, promoting the City of Dallas Regional Center (CDRC)’s excellent track record and Dallas’s favorable business climate.

Civitas Capital Group is the exclusive manager of the CDRC, a unique public-private partnership with the City of Dallas. The CDRC has successfully raised more than $250 million in foreign direct investment for Dallas projects in the last three years. EB-5 investors invest at least $500,000 in a project that will create a minimum of ten American jobs per investor. Provided these requirements are met and the investor completes a stringent background investigation, the investor receives permanent U.S. residency.

The short weekend trip marks Judge Jenkins’ second visit to the Far East since taking office in 2011. “Dallas County is diverse and thriving, but we compete in a global economy. Access to flexible foreign investment has been one of the many important tools we’ve used to rebound from the recession better than just about anywhere else,” said Jenkins.

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said, “I am pleased that the CDRC is playing such a key role in bringing economic development to fruition. I thank my friend, County Judge Clay Jenkins, for his support for the CDRC.”

Civitas CEO Dan Healy said, “The active support of the public sector is a key factor that makes the CDRC different from any other regional center, as shown by the demand we’ve seen for this project from EB-5 investors all over the world. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting Judge Jenkins on this trip. It was a great example of our public-private partnership in action, and I look forward to future collaborations.”
