Can an investor use a gift to fund their EB-5 investment?

Video Transcript

A common source of funds question is: “Can an investor use a gift to fund their EB-5 investment?” Short answer is yes, that’s probably the most common scenario that we see with many of our investors. The gift can be from basically anywhere. Very commonly it’s a parent to a child, or maybe you have some very generous and loving relatives, or even, you know, close friends. That’s all perfectly okay. The one thing we will say, though, is if you are using a gift whoever is providing you the money must be willing to provide some information about how they lawfully earned their money. So if it’s from real estate, from income, as long as they are comfortable providing that information to us, we can use it for your EB-5 filing.
